About me
My name is Alasdair McBroom and I was born in 1971. I have lived in the coastal town of Whitehead, County Antrim for most of my life. Like my father before me I have worked as a professional photographer for most of my years.

Since leaving college in 1990 I worked in a professional printing lab for three years. After that I freelanced for several of the top Northern Ireland press agencies. A regular freelance contract with the Belfast Telegraph brought me up to the start of 2009. It was then, after eight years, that I decided that the other developing aspect of my business, wedding photography, was at a point where I could concentrate on it alone. So currently I am a wedding photographer with a passion for landscape photography.

Over the years I have picked up several national awards for press photography and more on a global scale for documentary wedding photography. You can see my wedding site at www.bigglasseye.co.uk

Oh, and my seven year old daughter took my profile picture - not bad I reckon.

Ulster Landscapes
This new phase of my photography career was kick-started by me posting pictures on Facebook every time I went out for a walk in my hometown of Whitehead. The positive feedback I received from all of my friends was enough to convince me that it was time to do something more with the skills I have accumulated over the last twenty years. So here we are…

Framers
Karen and Claire Gibson. Very close friends of mine and respected ceramic artists who have run their own company for the last ten years. The girls have over ten years of framing experience and produce work to the highest of standards. With a thorough knowledge of up-to-date custom framing techniques and materials, the girls provide a selection of matting, frame moulding and design to give you the best possible presentation for your photographs.

Environmental
I am a strong believer in reducing our impact on the planet. I run my business and my home mostly on solar power generated by a 5 Kw photovoltaic system which generates just about enough for the day to day running if I am careful.
